EyecareLive is a telemedicine service focused primarily on eye and vision care. Our network of US-based, licensed doctors provide eye and vision care for conditions which can be diagnosed and treated remotely. Doctors at EyecareLive are well trained and experienced in treating conditions of the eye. If our doctors determine that your condition(s) requires immediate in person treatment or follow up, they will refer you when possible to an eyecare provider in your geographic area or an emergency/urgent care center if necessary.

EyecareLIve is a network of US-based, licensed Optometrist and Ophthalmologists. You can consult our doctors for common eye conditions such as eye allergies, infections, swelling, dry eyes, systemic conditions which may affect the eyes etc. You may also use EyecareLive for follow up appointments or to connect with your doctor about ongoing issues and treatment. EyecareLive is not designed for emergency care.

First, you will need to download the free EyecareLive app from the App Store or through Google Play. You can sign up for your account directly through the app and then find your doctor (or any local doctor in your area) by using the “find a doctor” feature.

Your doctor may choose to bill your insurance company. They may also charge a standard rate for certain visits. EyecareLive accepts all major credit cards, and you can update your payment information in your profile.

Your doctor may charge a standard rate for certain visits. EyecareLive accepts all major credit cards, and you can update your payment information in your profile. Virtual consultations include a video visit with a eye care specialist, and may result in diagnosis and treatment plans. If a prescription is necessary, doctors may send the request to your preferred pharmacy. If a referral to an eye care specialist is needed, or if an in-person visit is required for your condition, we can provide office availibility or a referral to a local doctor in your area.

EyecareLive doctors have the ability to call a prescription into your preferred pharmacy, or refill your current medications as needed. Fees may apply.

EyecareLive allows you to connect with your own doctor, or with a US-based, licensed doctor in your area. Most of our doctors see patients in their own local practices as well as offer virtual care to patients who are unable to schedule time for an in-office visit. With EyecareLive, you can feel confident getting care from a licensed, practcing doctor from the comfort of your home, office or anywhwre you may need care.

What if my conditions can’t be treated by EyecareLive remotely?2020-03-13T05:14:08+00:00

Your doctor will make the best effort possible to diagnose your eye condition and provide treatment options. If your condition cannot be thoroughly diagnosed on a video call, they may ask to see you in the office, or refer you to a eye doctor in your area for an in-person visit. If our doctors feel emergency care is necessary, you will be referred to an ER or doctor who specializes in care for your specific condition. In either case, your doctor may follow up with you after your visit.

For certain eye conditions, there is a high success rate for treating non-emergency eye issues on a video call. Making a diagnosis will always be at the doctors discretition and based on information you supply.

Can I get my contacts/ glasses RX updated through the app?2020-03-13T05:09:53+00:00

EyecareLive is not a replacement for your annual eye exam and in-office refraction. Only finalized prescriptions will be available through the app.

Yes, you are able to view details of past visits on the EyecareLive app. You will be able to access the date of exam, treatment and diagnosis notes, and any special tests or reports your doctor has chosen to include.

Yes, EyecareLive is a HIPAA compliant platform and all stored info is securely encrypted and cloud-based.

Yes, if your doctor has chosen to upload reports and results, those will be available for you to view on the app anytime.

In most cases insurance plans will cover telehealth visits, but since benefits can vary per plan and per individual we ask that you check with your provider for accurate information.

Smartphones are now capable of very high resolution cameras which are adequate for taking quality pictures and videos that doctors can use to diagnose most of the conditions.

Why am I being asked to pay for this remote visit when I have insurance ?2020-03-13T05:07:56+00:00

Not all Drs using ECL use the option to bill insurance. If your visit is after hours, weekends, holidays….Many Drs will bill on a cash pay basis which is still generally less than most Urgent Care/ ER visit copays.

Dry Eye is one of the fastest growing diseases in the world with over estimated 26 million people in the United States suffer from. Dry eye disease can cause loss of productivity, fatigue and several other symptoms. EvercareLive provides users a mechanism to do a self evaluation of their Dry eye conditions. EyecareLive provides an industry-wide accepted and validated questionnaire called SPEED (Standard Patient Evaluation of Dryness) test that patients can answer questions to determine the severity and frequency of their dry eye condition. EyecareLive generates a Dryness score and everytime a user takes this test, it compares the latest score with previous score to track the trends of dry eye disease. A visual representation of the trend is evaluated by the dry eye specialists to prescribe appropriate teratment plan to the patient. EyecareLive provides a very easy mechanism for patients and doctors to track dry eye disease and manage it appropriately.

We use higher levels of encryption than mandated by HIPAA regulations to secure and store the patient information. Multiple of copies of encrypted data is stored in multiple locations and can be restored in case of failures. Access to all the data is logged and audited to prevent unauthorized access. Patient’s credit card information is also stored in PCI compliant third party cloud only.

No additional hardware or software is needed to get started on EyecareLive. EyecareLive is a HIPAA compliant secure platform required for heathcare solutions. Facetime, Skype, and Google Hangouts are not designed primarily for healthcare use cases and hence do not comply with required security and privacy laws. EyecareLive gives patients iPhone and Android apps to securely provide the details of their medical history, current symptoms, photos and other required medical information in a simple, logical, and structured format which can be integrated with your existing EMR system. With EyecareLive, doctors get access to full patient profile including social, medical and family history of the patient and all information is secure and stored in an encrypted format.

Commercial insurance laws requires commercial health insurance companies cover services provided via telemedicine to the same extent those services are covered if provided in-person.

Only if you are licensed in the state from which the patient initiates the visit. Telemedicine laws in most states allow doctors ot see their own patients while the patients or the doctors are traveling outside of their licensed state.

You may charge the patient your U&C fees privately. Patients’ are required to provide a credit card on file on EyecareLive app and during the visit if EyecareLive is not able to validate the patient’s insurance eligibility, the doctor can chose to click on a button to charge the patient’s credit card for a video visit fee.

Yes, Parity law requires commercial insurance carriers to pay equal amount to doctors for Telemedicine encounters . Currently this provision is mandated in 30 states and rest of the states have similar pending regulations. We expect by end of 2018, all 50 states will implement Parity law and there may be no difference between in-office visit and telemedicine visit payments for similar level of patient encounter

Doctors using EyecareLive platform need to use the best clinical judgement and keep in mind this is not a replacement for physical examination, it is an adjunct to the care you currently provide. In the case of a patient reported ocular emergency EyecareLive can aid in providing valuable information to help the doctor direct care for the best outcome possible. EyecareLive does not directly or indirectly practice medicine or dispense medical services, it assumes no liability for data contained or not contained herein.

Patient’s can take Amsler test any time they wish to. The results of the tests are sent to their doctor via a secure message.
